May 18th 2012

We've booked another gig at the Royal Sovereign on June 23rd.

Many thanks to Simon at the Sov who can make a better profit with DJs as he only has to pay them a fraction of what he gives us!  We do give a special something of course & he likes us, so thanks again Simon!

The gig at the Royal Sov last Saturday was another blinder enjoyed by all - especially me!  The audience were great and came out in good numbers, the evening preceded by a fine warm day did help perhaps.  Lots of new people who hadn't heard us before were suitably impressed, and some future private gigs came out of it.

So far, no confirmed public gigs to report - working on it...

April 25th 2012

Been a pause here, as I've had to move and had no connection for a while. I am going to have to move again soon, being in temporary digs for a bit. Probably going to be moving at least twice more in the next year or so!

Many thanks to all who helped me out during the move.

Rehearsal tonight, first one since Easter, in preparation for our gig at the Royal Sovereign on May 12th. Hope to see you all there!

March 19th 2012

The Fundraiser for Mariposas Amarillas on Saturday March 10th was a great success and raised over £1000 I understand.

The other Band, "Cumbe" were very good and we enjoyed watching them.

That Hoxton/Shoreditch area is now a really lively place of an evening, the whole area was buzzing until late into the night. Millions of people about!

Here's a LINK to some pics of the evening at El Paso.

March 7th 2012

We are very much looking forward to the Mariposas Amarillas benefit gig for Columbian children this Saturday at El Paso. We're thoroughly rehearsed and have a set list ready (seldom seen).

Contrary to anything which might have been published before, Section Eleven are doing 2 sets and starting at 9:30pm.

Between sets there will be some chat and pictures shown, after we finish, the raffle will be drawn.

Great cause - see you there!

February 8th 2012

Gig at the Weavers last Saturday was very poorly attended.  This could be something to do with the 6 inches of snow dumped on us that night.

Anyway, those who were there enjoyed themselves and made the usual appreciative comments.

Personally, I thought we were slightly lack-lustre (Eamonn used this word as well), numbers were slow and sometimes slowed down, though solos were always good.

Don't forget the fundraiser on March 10th at El Paso (details on gig page).

January 13th 2012

We've managed to get a date at the Weavers Arms for Saturday February 4th. Haven't played there for a while now!
Weavers is at 98 Newington Green Road, N1 4RQ. Get there if you can!

The Royal Sovereign is apparently being refurbished and we are unable to book any dates until after January - this means they are taking no bookings until they're more certain of when it's all going to be finished, well this is what I devine from what I've been told. Should have a date there in March or April though.

Also, we've seen that the Latin Corner is still having live music, so we're going to keep trying for that one as well.

December 14th 2011

Another great night at the Sovereign last Saturday. Our #1 fan Sue B was there and brought loads of friends, so that helped to bump up the numbers. A great time was had by all - especially me!

BAD NEWS...
The gig at the Latin Corner scheduled for Jan 21st. has been cancelled as the manager has decided to move on. It's possible we might be able to team up with new management, but I have no idea really - wait and see.

Been a bit short of gigs this season so far, the only sure thing right now is a benefit coming up in March, but I'll try and get a February date at the Sovereign.
