Eamonn's
musical career began as a child with the Gloucester and District Irish
Pipe Band playing bag pipes. Perhaps this spurred him on to
take up the saxophone in the mid 1980s where he played in a twenty-piece
saxophone big band. He joined Section Eleven in 1991 playing
alto sax but moved over to tenor after a few years. Eamonn likes
to play the maracas when he can, though his style is more Jack Lemmon
than Machito.
Since joining Section Eleven, his sax playing has become legendary,
now playing fantastic solos and also supplying great backing and lead
vocals. He and Venetia work together to mastermind some teriffic
"stabs".
